I’ve made several new pieces in recent weeks, and most of the work is much bigger than what I have done previously.

Two new pieces are approximately two feet by two feet, and are framed by shadow boxes made of reclaimed, weathered redwood.  “The Persistence of Desire” (pictured) includes figured ash, quarter-sawn oak, and vintage encyclopedia pages, while “The Perils of Certainty” has ash that’s dyed indigo blue.

Another piece, “Inexorable:  The First Thought in Burns,” features a large, reclaimed pine shelf, along with dyed birdseye maple and a discarded circuit board.

All three pieces are now on exhibit at the Cloister Gallery in St. Paul.  Please see a previous post for more detailed information about the exhibit.

The largest exhibit of my work, including several new pieces, is now open at the Cloister Gallery in St. Paul.  The show will run from January 15 through February 19.

The gallery is located at 797 Summit Avenue in St. Paul, and is a part of House of Hope Presbyterian Church.

On Sunday, January 22, there will be an opening reception and short gallery talk from 11:00 a.m. to noon, following the 10:00 a.m. worship service.

A reception and gallery talk will also be scheduled in early February, with more details coming soon!

After two years with the previous design, I’ve decided to renovate the web site.  The new design will offer an interactive portfolio on the homepage.  It will also offer more information about the pieces I make, upcoming exhibits and shows, my process of working, the tools I use, and even a blog.

Please keep checking back for updates, new images, and other improvements.

Also, please let me know what you think by adding a comment, or sending a message through the contact page.

Thanks for your interest!
